1999 Jimmy wet carpet
Hello,
I was searching the forums for a solution to my wet passenger side carpet on my jimmy. I found a post that talked about fabricating a dam to keep water out of the air inlet for the heater. Truthfully, I don't really understand what they were getting at. That aside, I have everything but the dashboard removed from my Jimmy right now. Last night, I ran water out of the garden hose all over the windshield area and watched for leaks. I am in fact getting a leak, but I'm not 100% sure where it's coming from. It appears to be coming in around the recirculating door for the HVAC system, but there's no way to get at the thing unless I take the dash out and remove the housing? Any tips? I'm going to be selling/trading in my Jimmy soon, but I'd like to resolve this issue before pawning it off on the next person. Any advice appreciated. Pics are even better!

Re: 1999 Jimmy wet carpet
Normally either the AC is on and the drain is clogged or the heater core leaks (usually smell Dex cool then). Drain under engine compartment pass side under the box by the firewall and inner fender. But yes the windshield can leak or the bottom frame area can rust out on older (yours shouldn't be) or open hood, remove the wiper grill plastic covers and see if the V shaped drains under there are clogged. If you have a sunroof the drains for that are in the front door hinge area above the upper hinge so water dumps on them (another smart design) and maybe they are clogged as they run down the front A pillars.
