window repair ??
How easy is it to repair a rock chip in the main view of the driver. It;s a small chip but I don't wanna leave a big mark, it'll bug me cuz it's right where I look at the road. Thanks lol

Re: window repair ??
There are plenty of DIY kits avalable at your local auto parts. In my experience, they don't hide the crack/chip, they merely prevent it from growing.

Re: window repair ??
I am with Saudade...use the $10 kit...it will seal it with a sealant and keep it from getting worse.
I have had three windshields on my 97...this one just has three rock chips. I don't replace it until there is a humungeous, big old crack that is unbearable. Or when I want to spend $300 to make it new again, just to get more rock chips down the road. I have learned to change lanes and stay as far away as possible from gravel hauling trucks. Big, lifted Chevy and Ford trucks will also kick some rocks onto your windshield. BTW, a rock on the freeway nailed my left sealed beam the first week that I own this XJ, which I had bought brand new from the dealer. |
