turbo 400 tailshaft swap

I have lost reverse in my 4x4 turbo 400, got a replacement but it has a shorter tailshaft. is it a big deal to swap the tailshaft? i am a motorcycle mechanic and can probably figure it out if it is possible to do. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it is a major job.
The tail shaft is the last thing inside the back of transmission.
Can be changed but.
You will have to pull everything out to get to it.
