i was just wonderin which would be a better platform to run as a daily driver, be able to run some decent time attack times and drag. so which do you say a 89-94 240 hatch or trunk or a 95-98 240. ive been thinkin bout a 89-94 hatch with a carbon fiber hood, fenders, doors, trunk, and body kit. i also want to drop a roll cage in so what would be a great daily driver roll cage that aint a bitch gettin out of and can still run it by the rules of time attack and drag. im lookin to build a SR motor that can run me in the 11's. also what is the best full adjustable suspension inside the car that you can get for a 240. and one last question can u tub the rear end out of a 240 so u can fit 11" wide tires and how much does that compromise daily driving. if anyone can help would be much appreciated. just got a huge job promotion and should be averaging around $100k a year so i plan on building this car in the next few months and dumpin a lot of the money i make into it. i just wanna do everything right the first time. hate goin back over something again and spending more money than needed when i shouldve bought it in the first place.. well i know i said it b4 but if anyone can help or shoot me in the right direction it would be awesome.

Re: which is a better platform
The 89-94 hatch was the lighest of all the models, but not by that much. Im sure if u replaced the stock battery of a 95-98 for a lightweight battery ur looking at about the same weight.
I dont know a whole lot about roll cages but I think Cusco has a small 4-point roll cage for daily driving but most track cars usually have 8-point roll cages so that def. wont be enough. If money isnt an option, get the s15 sr as that had the most power. Full adjustable suspension. Dont know. 11" tires!? And do I think that will affect daily driving? It def. will. Thats a track only car with 11" tires. Hope any of this helps.
