Projects.

Hello all, I'm new here and thought I'd post some pics of what I've done to some of my 1/18 diecasts.

I thought I'd give mod'in one of my diecast's a go and here's my first attempt

Autoarts Impreza WRX:

I forgot to take a 'before' pic.

(I made all the pics a nice small resolution so that they'd load nice and quick)

It took me about 2 days (whilst working and doing other stuff) to do all the work, I'm quite happy with the end result. Lookin' at the pics again I think the wheels are a little too big, but I'm still happy with it.

After the WRX I was thinking about what I'd like to try next. The Rally MKII was chosen.

Things were going well up till this point. I had the bonnet done and I was on the second coat of lacquer, I was doing the spraying in the shed, I came back to check on the progress and noticed the bonnet laying on the floor, kinda ruined, the paint was scratched and it looked very bad. There were a few small problems with the rear of the car also, nothing major, but I wanted the paint to be as good as i can possibly make it, so, I decide to start the shell and bonnet all over again. Painting the dash was a mistake too, I've cleaned It up alot since that picture was taken and It looks OK now.

(Sorry for the poor quality of the last two images, they were taken with my phone)

Progress has stopped on the MKII because...I ran out of Pheonix orange and my local motor factors also ran out. Should be getting more mid-week and I can finish this off and move on to the next project, which I think Is a little ambitious but I'm going to give It a try anyway.

I'll give anyone who's interested a small clue...

+ = ??

I'll take loads of pictures of the progress as/when I make some.

Re: Projects.

How did you get the spot lights out of the body cos I dont want to risk breaking them , and how do you get sunstar wheels off?
