15 Thousand Dollars and New Car Reccomendations?

Ok so heres the deal, i have my base 3000GT right now running mid 14's which i am absolutely happy with keeping it the way it is, im looking for a second car, but not looking to make it a drag car, now i have ten grand to spend on a new car for selling some things, I want a good daily driver, has to be in the 14's at least if not faster, looks appealing but not a chick car. I'm willing to do like an extra 5 thousand dollar in payments so a total of 15 thousand dollars, what should i get.

Re: 15 Thousand Dollars and New Car Reccomendations?

well thats a good amount of money to explore with, and on here im sure most of us are biased and will say a 2nd gen vr4 lol but depends on what u want if u want to be boosting or just all motor, like just a fast car stock (say idk a 350z or something, just a quick example but theres a lot better..) so im sure these guys will have many ideas for u soon

Re: 15 Thousand Dollars and New Car Reccomendations?

Yeah 350z are nice, but becoming a little bit to common IMO, i dont want the vr4 cuz i know theres no way in hell i could keep that car stock id end up becoming addicted to make it better, nicer, faster, and im not going through all that again lol, i want a car that runs 14's but i mean if i gotta spend like a grand or two to get in 14's thats fine too, just something and nice and dependable.

Supercharged Pontiac Grand Prix GTP.
For 15 grand you can get a low mile GTP with great performance, 4 doors, good gas mileage, and if you need more pep all you need is a different pully for the supercharger. That sounds like a good daily driver to me.

Re: 15 Thousand Dollars and New Car Reccomendations?

Well thats what I did, why do I care how fast I get to work and it saves me a ton of money. However it didn't fit his bill of 14 second nice car.

Hey hey get a nice black 2002 Trans Am! One of my facorite cars, IN FACT the car i had before my SL was a 99 Firebird v6 and it was sweet enough. You can get a good Trans am for 10-12k and they run pretty dam fast. Definitely not a chick car and IMO its the most aggressive looking car ever made.

Re: 15 Thousand Dollars and New Car Reccomendations?

Yeah Pontiac umm im not to sure about that, umm a hybrid car i might as well walk to work faster, i mean when i say descent gas i mean like 19mpg and up is fine by me, nothing extraordinary, i mean cmon we drive 3000gt's almost anything is better on gas, ha but i was thinkin more like lexus gs400/430 lexus is300, suburu wrx,the new mitsubishi eclipse, late 90's bmw 540i, infiniti g35 if i find 1 for that price, acura rsx type s.

Re: 15 Thousand Dollars and New Car Reccomendations?

RSX is kinda girly IMO. Not a BMW fan either, but hey...

just put the 10g's as a down payment on the evo X when it comes out...that should get you reasonably low payments and fully meet your 1/4 mile reqs, and your gas reqs...and its a nice practical 4 door...and its definitely NOT a chick car lol.

although a chick driving an evo is about as hot as it gets...

but honestly, if it were me, i would prolly get a '99 SL. no mods exept intake and 99 verfer wing.

EDIT: and maybe exhaust ...and wheels...and...

yeah i agree with mistermoonpie. well do you want RWD, FWD, or AWD. i'm guessing engine size doesn't matter? i'm guess it doesn't matter if it is ATX or MTX. any years you want the car yo be in EX. 1995-2008. does it matter if it is american, european, or asian (the reason i say asian is because he can get a car from korea ). with that much money there are to many options unless you tell us exactly what you want and don't want.

Re: 15 Thousand Dollars and New Car Reccomendations?

i lost to one last spring...nice little run from a dig up to about 80. he got me by about a length..neglected to post that one If i re-ran him now i would take him though. im way better at shifting/launching now. It was a guy who used to be on AF actually...i think his name was SRT4WD or something like that...decent guy, not a cock like alot of SRT4 owners can be.

i actually like them. performance is good, but the fact that they threw a neon body on it just makes it awesome, lol. Like salt in the wound. I read a quote once...went something like "call it a neon all you want, but whats worse? the fact that its a neon, or the fact that you just lost to it?" lol

blasphemy, i know, but hey...

not like id ever sell my 3/s for one!

Re: 15 Thousand Dollars and New Car Reccomendations?

yeah srt-4 are quick but there just soooo ugly haha..... the evo x would be the car to go for since you don't care what kind of transmisson because they are ATX except the lowest model is MTX 5 speed. i don't remember where i read that but i don't know if it is true. and they should get good gas miles because you don't always have to boost and there 4cyl.

here some pics
