Vids from the Autocross.

I dont know why the fuck youtube messed up my vids! I added commentary to the vid and I can see it perfectly in my files but when I look at the vids I uploaded you can barely make out the words!
Its late, Im tired and I hardly give enough a crap about it to fix em so just ignore the comments.

The GTO's first run. I end up shifting too late and loose alot of momentum on that second corner.

Second and last run. on the second run I shift and the power straightens me out too much, I end up almost eating some cones.

RX-8 running. He blows the first run by going off course but then gets better.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aPtZEh8fg4

STI running. He blows our times out of the water. On the last lap he gets a bit too happy and drifts out the last corner, it offsets his angle for the final slalom and drops him 1 second.

I'm sure it did want to kick out, and you cant tell from the vids, but since i was stationed to work at location 1 during musashi's run (which was the begining of the course) his tail did kick out a bit when he got through the first corner, but nothing uncontrollable. There was this twin turbo vett pushing 630hp that almost lost control but he turned it into a big drift through a turn that spewed smoke all over, it was cool.

Well musashi said that he was only using about 30-40% of the power in his car. where as me I was using about 80%. so yeah im sure it wouldve been alot harder to keep control of his car at 80% and up.

Nice vids. I think I spied a NSX at the very end of the last clip you posted that drove by on the bottom side of the camera. Did you get to see him run?

Nice vids. Looks like you're getting a hang of the RX-8 now, Gotian...

Re: Vids from the Autocross.

The tail on the GTO kicked out twice on the 4th run and really bad on the last run but its so far from the camera you cant see it.
I had the traction on the whole time and I was only in 2nd gear at about 5K rpms tops on the straight and 2K rpms on the corners. Its easy too keep it in check that way.

AutoXing isnt about raw power, you dont have to push hard cause you loose more time recovering from and oversteer then you do if you just pussy foot it. Just gottan go out and run easy, try not to brake so much so you can carry speed through the corners, set up the entry angle for the slaloms early and dont hit any cones. its cakewalk.
the guys who go all out and apply lots of power end up spinning out and messing up.

Re: Vids from the Autocross.

There's an old Miata down the street from me... kinda beat up, seen better days. I've been eyeing it for a while now.

I'd be all over it if the hardtops weren't so damn expensive for them.
