94 manual trans question

I have a 94 with a manual trans. my shifter has alot of play in it so i took it apart and the shifter has a rod the sticks out and goes through the acutal rod that shifts the gears. well it apears there was at one time a rubber piece between these two which has disnigrated. so basicly i have a rod the size of a pen being slamed back and forth in a area the size of a quarter. I need to know what the part i missing is call. I hope someone can make sense of my explanation....

Re: 94 manual trans question

I have the same problem... in gear, I can move the shifter to the left and right so much that I think I'm in neutral! Its annoying haha..
