Catalytic Converter

Is it difficult to install a catalytic converter ? It will be on a 99 Grand Cherokee Ltd-V8-Quadra Trac.

If anyone has a brand recommendation, that would be great.
Thanks!

Re: Catalytic Converter

I recommend cutting off the old one (don't bother trying to undo the old bolts). Buy a few couplers and reducers and just patch in the sawed-off part with a coupler. I replaced mine with an off-brand aftermarket one and it works fine.

Re: Catalytic Converter

catco or something like that they flow better than performance cats and work about as good as oe but I'd definitely weld that puppy in if you're going to replace it. the rattle that my exhaust makes is driving me nuts right now
