Hi,
I own a 99 dodge intrepid and a week ago I replaced the fan asembly (both cooling fans that is) and the same day the car over heated in stop go traffic. over closer inspection we found that no fans are running, but under even closer inspection I found that every now and then the AC fan will come on and the car will run fine. The OBD II flashed P1489 which is the High Speed Fan CTRL relay circuit. Which I have no idea what that means. We ran the car into the red zone of the temp gauge and checked, The radiator fan was not running. we flushed the radiator completely. IT runs a little cooler now but still over heats when the AC fan decides to stop. Please help, Aaron |

Re: 99 intrepid one fan runing one not
Did you ever figure out what the problem was. I have a 96 intrepid and it has the same code coming up.
Thanks |

Re: 99 intrepid one fan runing one not
yes I replaced the relay for that circuit and used vice grips to tightly squeeze the plug that connects the fan to the relay and the code went away and the fan started to work.
