After market engine question

I have a 1998 neon sport. would it be possible to put a 3.0 dohc or possibly a supra engine rather then the stock 2.0 dohc. any advise and or info would be great. thank you for any advise you can give me.

Re: After market engine question

If you have enough money, time and know-how...then anything is possible.

The most common swap for the neon is the 2.4 from 98-01 Chrysler engines. You can also swap in the SRT-4 engine, but that takes quite a bit of rewiring.

how much rewiring would be needed to put in the SRT-4? and would it still be compatible with the existing 5 speed tranny?

There is alot of rewiring for the SRT-4 swap and it is compatible with the 1st gen tanny.

The SRT-4 has a turbo on it already.

Try ebay or www.car-part.com and will run you anywhere from $1000-$3000.

Re: After market engine question

Put 2003 for the year, engine, and then what city or state you are in and click search. It will then prompt you for which engine you want and then click on the "w/turbo (VIN "S")" and click search again.

Re: After market engine question

Don't forget the stratus engine also and go all motor. You would need a Mopar Proformacne ECU,MegaSquirt or a A/FX and a harness from a DOHC neon

Re: After market engine question

MS would be overkill for a N/A engine.
