1984 Caprice - need info on dash gauge and cornering lamps
Would like to swap the non gauge dash with the round faced one with temp sensor and vacuum gauge - presuming I can get a dash, what's NOT there I need to add?
Anyone have the GM part number on gauge dash assy? Need photo of cornering lamps in that car - can they be retrofitted? Cutting metal is no problem, but I'd hope it's a bolt on... Part numbers of lamp assy's? Also what would be the code to tell if there is a limited slip differential in there (RPO or stamped on unit)? This car has no rear sway bar - what was in the factory sport suspension - anyone know of aftermarket swaybars? Part number of GM sway bar assy? Thank you!

Re: 1984 Caprice - need info on dash gauge and cornering lamps
RPO fror the limited slip is G80. As for the dash assembly, I can't tell you but aside from the issues of needing to add electrical goodness for a temp gauge etc, you should be able to do a swap. You won't be able to use any gauges from anything newer than 1984 unless you swap out the entire dash assembly (the whole thing including glovebox etc) because the newer gauges won't fit. You will in that case need to do some rewiring, but it can be done.
If you're talking about the lamps on the front that light up when you hit the turn signal, this will require more additional wiring along with a turn signal switch replacement. You will have to also cut the sheet metal on the fenders to add them. I can't give you any part numbers though, however a visit to a dealership should provide you with that information.
