1997z28 SS

How do you tell if a 1997 z28 SS car is a true SS. Rpo tag? What are the SS options that should be on it?

either give the VIN to the dealer and they can tell you or look on the RPO sticker for the code WU8. all 97 SS cars will have the ram air hood with airbox and the SS specific spoiler, ZR1 wheels, and a Camaro SS dash plaque. Then the owner could have purchased additional upgrades like torsen rear end, level 2 suspension, high performance exhaust, SS floor mats, SS car cover, etc.

Re: 1997z28 SS

slp makes all the aftermarket crap on the f1...gm makes all the suspension upgrades, everything is all gm performance parts, u had to special order the car, or u could have turned any camaro into one by taking it to the dealership and have them do it...or if u have skills i can see doing it yourself. mines has the gm specialty vehicle seal, but i wanted to be sure it was real...and it is, so thats cool for me. the ss and the f1 had most of the same options (except the rs body kit), but the firehawk TA is the closest to compair it to i guess. nut like i said the vin number at the dealership can tell u all u need to know about that car...when it was made, original color, hell i even found out where mines was first picked up! im only the second owner.
