it sounds like your tranny might be slipping some. I know I got a stick and never had problems pulling out or changing gears but my rps would ocasionally just out of the blue go up to 3000 and stay there till I let off the gas. Well it got real abd took it to a shop to find out even though I could pull out my clutch was bad and needed desperate attention.

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 and it does the same thing. My mechanic has checked it out and of course never does it when he drives it.It doesn't do it all the time either,if yours is like mine it revs up by itself only on cruise.I've been told that it would do that if the transmission is shifting between gears depending on whether you are going uphill or on level ground.Thats BS because it will do it on level with no incline.I have had so many problems with this truck that I may never buy another dodge.

yes it should shift like going uphill beause it shifts from overdrive to drive going up that hill.
but i see what your saying to the guy sais it does it even on flat ground right?? well you might take it to another dealer and see what's up on the cruise on these trucks..also there is a ajustment under hood to set your cruise diffirent..good luck.. |
