Pennzoil Platinum

I am just curious, have any of you used Pennzoil Platinum in any of your vehicles and if so how do you like it. I never thought I would ask about any Pennzoil product and I will probably stay with Valvoline but I am just curious.

Re: Pennzoil Platinum

http://www.motor-oil-engineers.com/M...eers%20PDF.pdf

I can figure out most computer systems but all of the different motor oil gives me a head ace.
I just bought some ford Motorcraft 5W-30 that says synthetic blend on the bottle.
For 40 years it has been just plain old multi grade engine oil.
But Now it is called a SYTHETHIC BLEND.
So I think it is some of lying Bill Ford's stuff.
I am from Missouri so they are going to have to show me.
But It does not look like synthetic to me.

Re: Pennzoil Platinum

After talking to several different mechanics at several different places, both dealerships and independant shops, I have decided to stay with Valvoline. I told them that I had a 2006 Sierra with a 6.0L engine and 500 miles on it and asked if it was theirs what would they use and most said Valvoline, a few who worked at the Lincoln dealership said Motorcraft and one said if I wanted the best synthetic to use RedLine.

I had not told them what I used. I asked about Pennzoil and most said they would not use it but it was my engine to use what I wanted except for one that said he would walk before he put any Pennzoil in his engine.

I have never used anything except for Valvoline and never have any trouble, so I guess I will continue to use it.

Re: Pennzoil Platinum

Alot of people told me that Mobile 1 got rid of their piston slap problem. Using just dino-oil made the engine sound louder. In my opion I would stay with synthetic because I never had any internal damage done to my lt1 with just over 300K.

Re: Pennzoil Platinum

I have had this truck for 9 1/2 months now and it turned 3,000 miles today. I have changed the oil for the second time and used Valvoline DuraBlend again. I fugure by the time I trade the truck it might have 9,000 miles on it so I think I will stay with DuraBlend.

Re: Pennzoil Platinum

Shell Rotella T 15W-40. It's a commercial oil far superior than anything off the shelf.
