Exclamation Feels like iam running on 3cylinders

so yeah iam new... ok so my 92 nissan XE feels like if it was running on only 3 cylinders... but i really doubt it cause it really doesnt shake to violently when idling... so yeah.. iam here for other suggestions...what i think on my part is that my fuel injectors might be bad but iam not so sure... i did take to my autos class... unfortunatly the machine was unable to dianose my car so right now iam just stuck. When i drive it it really doesnt accelerate like its suppose to... its really slow at accelerating and stuff... especially when i have to go from a dead stop to you know go... it feels like it just gonna go off unless i give it more gas and keep the clutch in more... so yeah, any help would be greatly appreciated... thank you!

Make sure to check your regulars... fuel filter, plugs, wires, air filter, etc. You did that, right?

Re: Feels like iam running on 3cylinders

check clutch adjustment, could be your clutch is going. also do a compression and fuel pressure check. check fuel pressure at idle and under load.

Re: Feels like iam running on 3cylinders

Any sulfer/fart smells coming from your car ever? It really sounds like there is a chance it could be the catalytic converter. Any trouble starting? When I had my old car my cat went out while I was driving. Engine revved up and car slowed down. Check that out.

Re: Feels like iam running on 3cylinders

well just checked the recent replys so.. umm the first one was about the

clutch adjustment: well that couldnt be much of a problem cause the clutch

is still pretty good it was replaced like last year i think...BUT!! i will check

my compression and fuel pressure thats for sure! alright the second reply

about reseting my ecu and checking voltages to the mass air flow sensor.

at first i always thought it could be something electrical becuase the

person that had this car before me (my uncle) he likes to screw with

electrical things.. sooo one of the battery cables was like chewed up but i

just fixed it and it seems good one thing iam concerned about it that thing

in the middle called the "ECCS" when ever you rev the ingine you can hear

it clicking on the lower right side right where the throttle body is at makes

like a ticking noise... what i think it might be that throttle body sensor on

the side or something but still not sure. and to the third reply about the

muffle and smells i really doubt it cause its a Chicago car and trust me

emissions there are a bitch! and yeah i have checked for that no smells

nothing just running right. so yeah thank you all for your replys and yeah i

gonna go and check my compression and fuel pressure in my car when

monday comes cause i dont have the right tools here at home. so yeah

keep other suggestions coming!! (damm that was long lol)

Re: Feels like iam running on 3cylinders

did you reset your ecu or did you just fix the battery cable, if your ecu isnt sending proper siganls to your injectors you may see misfiring and/or lack of power, your maf sensor could not be fried but on the way out and throw your a/f ratios off just a tad, at low engine speed it could also be your O2 sensors, sounds like youre running rich but you dont smell anything funny in your exhaust? a compression and fuel pressure test should eliminate the other two things on that list and if you still cant find the problem maybe your just not used to 1.6 liter POWAH!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Feels like iam running on 3cylinders

have your injectors cleaned, its a 92, regardless it would be good to know that your end point to your fuel system is totally clean, and as for your clutch, if it was recently replaced it could have been adjusted imporperly, if you have to hold the clutch in and give it gas more than you should then maybe its too snug, how is pedal feel? check the alignment of it and see if loosening the cable 1-2 turns helps you out any

Re: Feels like iam running on 3cylinders

oil fill level? too much oil can cause slugishness, if your close to an oil change do an oil analysis and see if you have any coolant or metal in it as well

Re: Feels like iam running on 3cylinders

have a shop do it, they have some kind of tool that uses sound waves to clean the plaque off the nozzles, the injectors are under the intake manifold on the firewall side of the engine, they look like your spark plugs almost
