HELP!!! 89' Bronco 2 Idles at 2000 RPM

I've had this Bronco 2 almost a year now and it seems to have robbed me of every red cent I've ever had in my pocket or will have. I was delivering pizza's in it one day and everything was fine until I approached a stop sign. I let off the gas and my RPM's shoot up to 2000 instantly, I was told it was my Throttle Position Sensor, so I replaced it and still...the problem persists. I then was told that my map sensor had gone out so I went and spent the $57.77 on a new one only for the problem to NOT GO AWAY .
I'm at the brink of losing my mind here and if anyone could help I would REALLY appriciate it.

Nearly forgot...When I put on my new TPS it didn't want to fit on the right way...I had then forced it on and heard a click or a snap type noise...If I screwed that up then my problem probably lies there. When I dislocate the wires running from it while the truck is running there is no change in performace...when I dislocate the map sensor it starts to sputter real bad. Will I kill my truck runnning it without the vaccum line and it sputtering like that?

the problem is the mass air flow most likely.
