Just got a 92 Lude S

Ok. heres the deal. I just got this car about a week ago and already thinking about what im going to be able to do with it. I use to have a 90 civic but I sold it about a year and a half ago. Now that I have this car I relize there are alot of similarities but its a whole diffrent ball game at the same time. Im really not sure where to start on this car. Im more concerned with speed then looks. I just need a little guidence. im lost I feel like a little kid again starting all over. The Car has a F22A1 under the hood / 5 speed / basic stock exaust that needs to be replaced anyways

PLEASE HELP ME

Im not really sure where to start.
thanks J

(Also want to note that it drips oil. im starting to think that the gasket on the oil pan is the cause but im not sure.. it may be the head or another
I know that it runs down the oil pan and its not from the drain bolt)

I dont want to dump a bunch of money and not really help. and if im going to have to do open heart sergery then I might as well give her a little pep while im in there.

Re: Just got a 92 Lude S

Well…first off…what is a lot of money to you? $1000-$1500 or $3500-$4000? One of the things that you have to understand is that bolt-ons don’t give you nearly the same amount of power gains as with a Civic. I bought a 92 F22A Type S two years ago…sweet car but…if you get the standard I/H/E from eBay you'll notice just a little bit of umph, if any...the stock engines are pretty well tuned from the factory so you'll have to drop a lot of dough to get significant gains. I would recommend custom headers (RMF/SMSP), AEM V2 intake, high flow cat, Apexi Exhaust…but…that might run you $750+ for parts…from there it’s up to you…maybe pullies and cams, clutch, suspension? (keep adding the $$$) The stock ignition is good up to 300hp so don’t mess with that. Make sure all the hoses/gaskets are ok. Like yours, I had to replace the gasket on the oil pan at 100K, did a valve adjustment, timing belt, water pump (the standard honda 100K)...other than that I’ve only spent money on upgrades…the car is solid. So I guess it comes down to this…build the engine internals for N/A power and be happy with 200hp, or, turbo/supercharge that bitch! Both of which will cost you time, money, and a really good tune. Let us know what route you go.
