Question about tcc solenoid
I have a 1989 Cutlass Calais Sl 2.3l quad 4. I recently unplugged the tcc solenoid to solve a stalling problem. I now have a service light come on in the car. code-26. I can clear the code by pulling the fuse and as soon as I take off in drive it comes back. I know that code 26 is a quad driver code and it could mean a few things, but should the car show a fault by unhooking the tcc and if so how do you work around it? I never had the code before I unhooked the tcc and it was a pain in the ass to get unplugged so I haven't verified by plugging back in.

Re: Question about tcc solenoid
Welcome ot AF.
The quad driver is just what they call a hub wire junction. So you unpluged wires in the system, that is why the DTC is thrown. Here is a link that shows you the ifs and hows of the TCC. http://autorepair.about.com/cs/doityourself/l/aa011703b.htm Hope that helps.

Re: Question about tcc solenoid
Xeroinfinity thank you for the reply. I was curious if you knew how to clear the service code and make it go away for ever and ever without replacing the solenoid.
