How's this for irony.

Most of you that have been here more than a couple of years may remember my red GTC and how it met an untimely end. Those of you who don't there is a link to see pictures of the car, before and after, on my CarDomain page. What most of you don't know about is the legal battle I had with Farmers Insurance over the value of the car. I had it appraised at between $5,000 and $7,000. They offered $1,200 so I took them to court. To make a long story short the judge ruled that he knew better than a licensed appraiser and I ended up with $1,200.

Well, Saturday I found something in my mail box. It is a class action lawsuit against Farmers Insurance for failing to pay the proper value for cars it has totaled from 1989 to present. I'll be sending that puppy in. I don't care if I only get twenty-eight cents. I just hope they lose and who knows I may end up getting a fair amount.

I was feeling like crap on Saturday and reading that made my day.

Hehe, yeah, that would be nice. Maybe I can get enough to fix the dent on the side of the new one.

Thats awesome, so they have to pay everyone back from 1989-present? or only a few?

No. How it works with a class action lawsuit is they send you the lawsuit and you have to fill out a form and send it back to be part of the lawsuite. Only those who send the form back will get any money.

Hell, if they gave me a couple of grand, I don't see why not.

Re: How's this for irony.

See, it's not that easy though and I think the GT28RS is smaller than my T3 anyhow.

I could always just turn up the boost with the stock turbo. I just want the GT cause' it's much more efficient. Either way this means I would need some supporting mods such as a Whalbro 255, bigger injectors, fuel rail, regulator, header, custom flange, Spearco 1080cfm intercooler, intake piping, boost controller, and fuel management. Then I could turn up the boost past 14.7PSI, or get the GT28RS.

Then there is another problem, thanks to the exhaust I now have been blessed with the slipping clutch mod. So I need to replace that first and I would want to get a new lighter flywheel and why not throw a Quafie LSD while I'm poking around in there? Also, I would benefit more from having my head work done before driving up the boost since the stock head doesn't flow the greatest, not bad but it can be much improved and that is going to run me about $1,500.

See the dilemma? I need to fix the dent and paint the car before I can swap the interior anyhow.

I just need like $10,000 in one lump sum. Then I could have some fun.

Re: How's this for irony.

Well I hope that you get the value of the car before the accident. I remember all the legal battle stuff and it sucked hard core for you. One dead end after another. This would be sweet justice! And if everyone else forgets to mail in their voucher you could end up with a million bucks!

Re: How's this for irony.

The judge will rule on it this month. That's about all I know. It is nice though, I can get extra money because of my new tires, head, wheels, and some other crap on the car.

However, I thought this was really strange. The adjuster for Farmers that totaled my car and screwed me over was named Robert Popleton. The name of the adjuster for my insurance handling the Stealth is Robert Popleton. Now, I don't know if it's the same guy or not, but really, how many people have that damn name?

God must be bored or something and needed a laugh.
