96 Ciera 3.1 hesitation

OK. First my car was hestating and missing terribly and the engine light came on. So I had found a bad vacuum hose that teed off at the intake plenum and went to valve cover and other way went to behind the coil packs. Repaired line. Engine runs much better but still misses sometimes and hesitates on acceleration. The engine light by the way is a misfire code. The plugs and wires are about 2 years old as is the fuel filter. And in 2 years i probably only put on 8k miles. I removed all the coil packs and did an ohm check on primary and secondary. They were good according to specs from autozone. Also removed the ICM under the coil packs and had it tested at Autozone on their machine. Tested 3 times all good. I am also getting TERRIBLE gas mileage. It seems when Im on the highway I notice it the most when it shifts into O-drive. It chugs. SO my next thing to check is fuel pressure and what do you think about a catalytic converter plugged. Car has 110,000 miles. Bought it with 75,000 about 5 1/2 years ago. Lots of city driving. Now its getting more highway. Once a week about 75 miles. But any other ideas? The only code is that misfire. Thanks for any help.

Oh and my cruise quit just before all this. I thought maybe a vacuum line for that came off. But I dont see any lines on the servo box. I am not a mechanic so im not sure.

Oh and I noticed today that it was running hotter than normal through town. Which it never has as long asi have owned it. Checked anit-freeze it was fine. Could some timing issue be causing this?

I know you said you did an ohm check on the coil packs, but not sure how much that really tells you. I know that I had 2 coil packs go out, one at around 110K and the other just a few k after that and the symptoms you describe are quite similar to the ones I had when CPs went out.

Is there a way to pinpoint the cylinder? When I took it to Autozone, they just said the code is a misfire. Will a GM garage have a better code checker? Or they all the same?
