Clock!! Time changes by itself!!??!?

We have an '05 Aveo with about 1,500 miles, and a couple times the clock has reset itself back to 1:00.

Has anyone had any problem with their clock resetting by itself??

Thanks. . . Stu

Re: Clock!! Time changes by itself!!??!?

probably a loose fuse.

when we first get them at the dealership we have to install the fuse for the radio and clock because they like to stay on I guess and kill the battery. The manufactor ships them loose.

so maybe someone didint push it in tight enough.

if not then probbably a bad clock itself.. I think we replaced atleast one that I know of.

2004 Aveo sedan, I've had this problem ever since new. It will be fine for months, then all of a sudden I'll start the car and the time will be a random one. Can't be a loose fuse because it works all the time. Aveo sucks

Well, let me tell you the good news.

The next time I went to the Chevy dealer (for the 19.95 oil change) and they asked me if everything else was OK I told them about the clock.

They called me an hour later and asked if they could keep the car overnight, as they were having a new clock overnighted. I picked up the car the next day, and there hasn't been a clco problem since.

The dealership told me they had seen other Aveos with the same problem, and covered it under warranty.

I quite agree that it's the loose fuse, but if not, check the connections to your batteries, note, if you lose connection with your batteries even less than 0.1 sec, you'll lose power and it'll reset everything. Check your cables, grounding and everything, it'll also give positive effect to your other electronic parts of your Aveo.

And better yet, ask your dealer, warrantee and stuff.
