engine upgrade

Could any one help me.I have an e36 with a 1.8 SOHC (M43) manual engine, and would like to know if I can put a 2.5 or 2.8 lump in.I need to know what modifications i would need to do. If anybody can advise I would be very grateful. Regards Jason.

Re: engine upgrade

I've seen M50, M52, S50, and S52 swaps done in E36 318's. I'm not sure of the exact work done it though, but it is possible.
