1999 jgcl dashboard / head unit question

Hello everyone,

I am wondering since I am looking to update the head unit in the car and keep the amp and speakers for now since it has the infinity sound system.

I am debating between either a dvd player with flip out screen head unit or since on the upper part of my dash there is a part thats lower than the rest with a flat spot of getting a dvd playing head unit but without screen and putting a hidden screen that I can flip up from that part of the dash.

I am just wondering if I do hack into the top part of the dash what kinds of headaches or horrors I may run into if I go with the seperate screen/headunit way.

Sorry if its a little confusing.

If anyone has any advice or ideas please let me know,

Thanks,

Joe
