Exclamation another theory on getting a fto stateside

Theoretically speaking if I had someone in Japan ship me piece by piece and fto (this was supposedly done with jeeps during ww1 and ww2) through the mail and putting it together in America I could avoid crash testing it for dot and if I’m correct you can spray paint farm use on the side I don’t have to worry about taxes or registering it and maybe insurance could that work at all do you think there is even a chance? What do you think

Re: another theory on getting a fto stateside

ok ok guys listen up, if you really really want to get an FTO stateside legalized and everything there are companies that can and will do it for you, one such company is www.evolutionimports.com, trust me i already asked them if they could do it and they said they could get one stateside but they belived it wouldn't be worth the money, but in any case it can be done, another company that exports cars out of japan is www.batfa.com keep in mind of what year fto that you want to get, if it was manufactured before sept 1st 1995 then the car only needs to conform to only occupant crash saftey, if the car was made after sept 1st 1995 then it will need to conform to occupant crash saftey and side impact as specified by the DOT. just a few things to keep in mind

Re: another theory on getting a fto stateside

The FTO has a strong Body, Side impact bars, Airbags and doesn't weigh 3 tonnes....what more could ask for?

The Car when built was wayyyy ahead of the pack with safety in mind....if you don't believe me just have a look at this......

..............and the Driver walked away......
