Headlight Restoration

Thought this might be helpful to a few of you.

I bought a pemex kit at the store. It comes with 1000, 1500, 2000 and 1200 grit sandpaper. Aslo comes with a buffing cloth and buffing compound.

Frankly, the paper wasn't course enough after I did it the first time, so I bought 320 and 600 grit paper to start out with.

Before all drivers side, both sides looked the same.

Passenger side after

Just the lowbeam buffed out here

Here's some with the lights on, I will try for night shots later.

When I was done, the passenger side light hurt my eyes when I looked into it, the drivers side didn't.

I think it would come out better if:

A. I took the headlights off
B: took more time sanding, but my hand started to hurt
C. used different grits buffing compound for a smoother finish

I also did the lower markers/turn signal. The pass side isn't done in all the pictures.

Night shots with pass side done, drivers not.

Finished with SS ultras installed

or

and also : http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/ce/t.asp?page=50

I use for year on several Burb, it really improve driving at night.

Re: Headlight Restoration

i use rain-a-way or rain-x on all the plastic lights (front and back) to aid in visibility and to stop the plastic light from hazeing . i started useing this in 1977 when i got my private pilots licence for the lexon windshield on the plane and not to long after it made it into the automotive field. this works real good for my autos and my sons autos. food for thought. 463
