gas gauge
I have a 1999 silverado the gas gauge will read as if I have no gas after I
fill up, when I am sitting still (at a stop light ect.). You can move the truck or give it gas and it will read correctly. When the truck is 1/2 full it will read correctly till it gets below a 1/4 then it shows it's empty again. |

Sounds like either the fuel gauge sending unit is going bad or the float in the tank is sticking.

You may want to live with it untill your fuel pump asm goes out. The pump / sending unit is all one and they are proud of it!
