Exclamation tuning?

ok i've done all or at least most of my research...i think..

so far i found out my 420a can handle max 7psi of boost on stock internals
my stock fuel injectors can handle 8psi max

and to upgrd my fuel system all i need is a walbo 255 and a FMU 12:1 ratio
and dats all for my fuel upgrds

1 so far is this all right info?

2 do i have to test and tune my car?
i heard dat if i have a FMU it will raise the fuel pressure while am boosting
so is this true too?

thanks guy

Re: tuning?

Test and tune is always gonna be a part of turbocharging a car... Also the FMU will constantly raise your fuel pressure, not just with boost.

Re: tuning?

It also depends on the turbo. A bigger turbo may need bigger injectors also, like 450-550s. I think the 255 pump may also be too much... but again, it depends on the turbo and how much boost. A t25 should run fine on a 190pump, but a BE16G will need the 255 and bigger injectors.

What setup are you looking to run?

Re: tuning?

for ditching the short hand "TXT" style or whatever of writing. I can understand if you are abreviating a few commonly used words like IMO or IIRC or FTW or whatever. It fucking drives me crazy when I have to sift through a bunch of wut, a/b, dis, dat, etc.

Also, I am officially going to go back in time and kick whoever started talking about "psi" when it comes to turbos in the balls. You will be fine past 8 psi on a 9b, but throw on a 42R at 8 psi and and you will be fucked.

Glad you did some research before you asked a question. You are on the right track, but not quite there yet. The 255 will be more than you'll ever need, but you will need a fuel pressure regulator (FPR) to handle it. You will also need some sort of fuel control and data logging. Air/fuel ratios will differ from car to car based on any number of factors, but I'm willing to bet 12:1 is going to be too high. Just look around, I bet you can find a good tuning how to somewhere.
