Heater is going on and off ???

I own a 96 Cavalier and very recently the heater is going on and off - like a heater blower problem - not really sure. There is a humming noise that comes and goes as well and gets louder as I accelerate the gas - not sure if these are even connected. Have also realised the serpentine needs to be replaced ... would either of these issues be connected? Any suggestions would be greatly appeciated.

I doubt if your belt would have anything to do with the blower motor. Mine was doing that, the blower motor was just going. I had to replace it.
