Revell releasing Audi R8 and R10 ?!

Just happened to see this on Revell's homepage:
The Audi R8 streetcar and the R10 TDI LeMans racecar:

http://www.revell.de/de/produkte/mod...KGSCHL=01&nc=1

Have Audi finally come to their senses and allowed someone to make scale models ?
Can't wait for the R8..

Re: Revell releasing Audi R8 and R10 ?!

Must get the R8. Then i will put a gallardo engine in it . That will be a perfect R8.

And the R10. I cant wait too. Probably gonna be full detail unless revell goes cheap and does the R10 like their F1 cars.

Re: Revell releasing Audi R8 and R10 ?!

Why the hell did Audi call their new streetcar R8? Why not call it R9 to alleviate any confusion with the Le Mans winning racecar?

Re: Revell releasing Audi R8 and R10 ?!

I snapped a few photos of the R8s running around town here a week and half ago. Apparently, audi invaded the las vegas speedway for a month for testing and showing off.

Can't wait to see Revell's hit the shelves. Thanks for the info.

Re: Revell releasing Audi R8 and R10 ?!

RallyRaider: The R8 name is indeed strange. But I guess they wanted to get some LeMans glory to rub off on the streeetcar. Remeber the concept version was called "LeMans".

Amusegt1: It says the R8 will have 75 parts and the R10 80 parts.
Doesen't sound like crazy detail, but should mean at least they are not curbside or ?

Sucks for SMS. They are putting together a resin kit of the R10, but if the Revell one is full detail, no one will buy it.

Re: Revell releasing Audi R8 and R10 ?!

this would be my guess.. AS you can see the C6-R has about 65 parts? and it does come with an engine.. and the R10 has 80.. so I hope I made my guess pretty clear at this moment?

Make sense, right? As the A8 is the top of the line luxury car, where with audi you could say A is a sedan, Q is a suv or sav and R is sports.

Rs is of course audi's amg or Mpower.

Still, tis very cool to see these models from revell, too bad it's a bit ferrari-year for me

Re: Revell releasing Audi R8 and R10 ?!

That is a damn shame for SMS, the Revell kit will really take the wind out of thier sales (so to speak). Or maybe it will be an opportunity for them to sell more PE detail sets?

The R8 designation sounds logical when viewed that way Oli. Audi still could have avoided the double up if they wanted to, since they didn't, I guess it must be deliberate.
