average mpg

hi i have a 1993 chevy lumina i think its a 3.1L v6 not sure but i bought it for $300.00 and wanted to know what the average miles per gallon should be cuz it runs through full tank in like 2 days not driving far or stepping on it

well it certainly isn't getting what it should be!! my '93 3.1L gets approx 21mpg city and around 30 on the highway. Approximately how many miles did you get on the tank of gas? Obviously there are several factors that could cause the decrease in your mileage. Have you looked for leaks?

I've noticed on my wife's '93 Euro that she's been averaging 25ish mpg and my '91 has been averaging 19ish mpg at best. The difference between the two is that she's got overdrive and I've got a 3 speed automatic. That may or may not be the reason for the difference, but that's where we're at.

yeah to answer how many miles on a tank im not sure but im seeing like 15 mpgand that to me is horrible and there are two leaks a small leak from the oil pan and a small leak from the transmission but i dont know if that could be the problem oh i also have a small exaust leak
