gas in oil

93 s10 blazer 4.3 w auto. 175,000 miles. code 32 stalling and now no start. Replaced egr, map sensor and found small amout of gas in oil that slipped past cylinder 3 & 6. Have no fuel pressure tester. Out of experience would you say spyder assembly, injectors, or fpr? or what else?

Re: gas in oil

if its the 4.3 vortec VIN W then id say you have a leaking CPI/regulator or nut kit. remove the upper intake to check for washed areas.

Re: gas in oil

I didn't think they put the vortec on until '94.

Re: gas in oil

correct, the 4.3 CPI was not introduced in the s10 till 94, but we are talking about a s10 BLAZER which had the 4.3 CPI in 93 (i believe on LT models).
anyway, there are a couple ways to determine if you have a leaking CPI or nut kit. you could pull the vac line off the brake booster and take a wif and see if you can smell gas, you could remove the IMTV from the top of the intake (under the plastic vortec cover) and look down inside the manifold for leaks, or you can remove the upper intake. the inside on the intake should is usually a grimmy black color. if the passenger side of the manifold is clean, your regulator is leaking. if the drivers side is clean, then the nut kit is leaking. if you take the upper manifold off, turn the key on to pressurize the system and look for leaks. also, if you have a leak, fuel pressure will drop off fairly quickly after the engine is shut off.
