BMW 320i STW '98 Winner, J. Cecotto (Dec '06/Jan'07)

Painted and polished, I'm working on applying all the decals to the body.

Painted? I made this one a few years ago but mine was already painted..... Kit was made bij Revell. I hated the decals because they are just normal decals with glue :S

Good luck,

Kris.

Yes, this is a pre-painted kit (I believe its a Dragon kit) I made this one a few years back - it is severely undersized and not-to-scale.. but otherwise...

Ya, it is the pre-painted dragon kit, but mine came with a huge scratch on the side, so I had to re-paint the body, blending it in with the hood that has a tampo print on it. That's why I said painted, I feel like I've lied .
I quite like the kit, don't really know about it being undersized. One thing I did notice is the inside door panels are for a two door 3 Series, not the four door, but this won't be too visible in the completed kit. Decals are pretty good. I would recommend it for anyone looking for an easy build, just hope you don't get one with any scratches on the body.

Re: BMW 320 Cecotto (Dec '06/Jan'07)

I've been working on the interior but have had some difficulty finding pics of the real car to see how the cockpit and such are. Anyone have or know where I can find some interior pictures of a 320 STW? Thanks a bunch.

More pics on my progress will be up shortly.

Re: BMW 320 Cecotto (Dec '06/Jan'07)

Just a few progress pics...

I've actually got a lot of the parts painted and ready for assembly. I've been a little busy with school so things are going slow. Here is a pic of the roll cage.

It's gotten a few coats of paint, still needs some final ones before final assembly.

Here are some pics of the body, most of the decals have been applied, lights have been installed, etc...

That decal on the trunk was the biggest pain in the A to put on. Wow. Glad it's over.

Re: BMW 320 Cecotto (Dec '06/Jan'07)

Haven't had a chance to update in a while, but this one is almost finished. The chassis is complete, just have to finish adding some parts to the body and putting on the rest of the decals. Sorry about the pics, my camera is not what it used to be...

This is what the chassis looked like at last update:

I modified the interior with wiring and PE seatbelt gear to replace the decal seatbelts that came with the kit. I lost the gearshifter and had to come up with a replacement. Not exact, but close enough.
