What of this? Light cut abrasives good? Like turtle wax polishing paste?
thx

Wet sand the windshield with 1000 grit wet paper. Use a little soap in the water.
After wet sanding polish with Blue Magic Polishing Creme or Novus polish. Either will work great.

I wouldn't arbitrarily go straight to 1000 grit, it depends on how deep the scratches go. You may, for example, only need to start with 3200, it will cut down on the work.

For me the best is Novus 2 liquid. I polish with it all my windshield and bodies.

Then I bet you could use one of those lens cloths to wipe it clean and make it crystal clear
