Will a 4L60E out of a 96 Blazer work in a 1994 Z28

My trans went out yesterday and I can get one out of a 96 blazer for next to nothing, Does anyone know if it will fit? Thank You for your help.

it will fit.. but will it work? the shift points and the amount of clutches..etc will be different.. im not sure if you want to go that route but maybe you can use it as a stopgap.

I don't believe the bolt pattern is the same but the dimensions aren't the same either. I don't believe it is usuable without swapping the internals into a different case.

I am actually wanting to go in with a 6 speed, this is my first automatic Camaro and I hate it. I am trying to think up a quick fix until I can afford the manual setup. The Transmission that is in the car quit pulling in 3 and 4 gear. Would that be the clutches?

Yes, that is the commen 3-4 clutch pack. Use a Z pak on the rebuild and this won't happen again. As for your preference, I agree the 6 speed is the fun factor choice hands down but if you are going to build a 1/4 mile monster, auto will be the prefered tranny.
