Do I need to replace my camshaft seal?

I have a 88 Honda Civic Hatchback 1.5L

I just replaced my spark plugs tonight. On two of the plugs when I pulled them they were both soaked in oil. As far as I can tell the camshaft cover seal is leaking oil and it is sitting on top of the spark plugs because they are recessed down about six inches in those "wells".

There is also oil leaking out of the front of the camshaft cover and I'm thinking it's about time I took care of this thing. Anyone have similar problems on their engine?

Also, where do I find a camshaft cover seal?

Thanks for any help in advance

Re: Do I need to replace my camshaft seal?

you can get it at the dealership or any auto parts store. It's refered to as a valve cover gasket. You should pick up some kind of silicone sealant as well. Mitusbishi Silicone or Honda Bond will work very well, there are other companies that make similar products as well. You will put a thin layer of the silicone at the corners near the camshafts.

Buy youself a Valve cover gasket set. It includes the VC gasket and the 4 donut rings that go around the spark plug holes. This set is definitely a must and changing it is a breeze. Or you can buy the parts individually from the dealer, should be like 7 bucks for the VC gasket and like 1 buck or 2 for each spark plug o-ring.
