i have a 87 prelude si will the instrment cluster out of a 88 or 89 fit in my lude

Your best bet is to call your local Honda dealership parts department. Ask them what is interchangeable with your year 'lude. If by any chance you tried your local junkyard first, don't go by what they tell you. They are there simply to sell their parts and to get your money. I know you can return and be refunded for the parts if not compatible, but what about the time and sweat you wasted.
