Talking The New Baby is Here!

The new girl has finally come in. I ordered the E92 335i on November 30th of last year. I picked her up on March 1st, 2007.

I can't comment on the car too much, as I haven't even reach 400 miles on the odometer yet. The handling is superb; point and shoot basically. The power is definitely there, although i haven't put the pedal to the floor yet since I'm still in break-in.

I'm still adjusting to driving the manual tranny (first one). I need to get out on the weekends are drive around in stop and go situations a lot more. I'm in them everyday, but still tend to get a bit nervous with cars behind me and let off the clutch to fast. It's a learning curve, and with less than 400 miles under my belt it's a bit expected I suppose.

These pics are pretty crummy. I hope to use my roommates dads camera to get some nicer shots sometime soon. As well as do a mini-photoshoot with his 350Z and my car.

Day I signed the papers:

Nice ride man. Did you get it financed? Company car?

Have you bunny hopped away from the lights yet?

Re: The New Baby is Here!

Thanks for all the compliments guys. Probably a bit strange seeing a car, since I had a truck for all those years in the sig.

Plans, of course....but not for a long while. The future plans are PROcede, 19" CSL replicas, lowered on coil overs, shift knob, exhaust. More if I really thought about it.

I financed it through a credit union for 5 years at 6% interest rate. I paid for a large chunk up front to lower my note. I plan to pay it off in no more than 3.

Nope, no name. I jokingly sent my friend an email the day I picked it up and put Snow White as the subject and he asked if that was her name. Since it's Alpine White I thought about Ally, but I really have no clue. Suggestions?

With having to buy a home in 2.5-3 years time I'm hoping to have it as my secondary car by then. If things go as I hope it shouldn't be a problem, but then again, nothing ever goes as planned.

Thanks for the comments again. Once I put some miles on her and get more comfortable I'll give a more detailed review.

Re: The New Baby is Here!

Congrats. When I went to tractor trailer school was the first time really having drive stick on the road. They had us talk out the entire thing. Clutch in Clutch out. Ofcourse that was for double clutching but should work. Give it a shot and see how it works.

Dude that's a pimpin car right there. The BMW says, "I roll it in style." Yet the aggresive front end says, "Don't fuck with this Paul Walker!"

Re: The New Baby is Here!

Sweet ride.

I recommend taking it to a empty parking lot, so you don't get distracted. Practice letting the clutch up and getting the car rolling with no gas, you really want to find the "catch point". Once you get the feeling for it more when you're in traffic hold your brake down, ease the clutch up to that catch point, than take your foot off the brake and blip the gas a little to get it moving, with that technique you'll be alot smoother and on hills you won't roll more than a 1/2 inch with practice.

Re: The New Baby is Here!

Nice car. I'd leave it stock... since it's freakin' awesome the way it is. Definitely drive it and get used to it the way it is now before putting big wheels and coil springs on it. It may perform better the way it is now then the parts you plan to replace. My .02.

When driving a manual with a good clutch you should never roll backwards even if you suck at it. If you ease your foot off the clutch you really won't have to give it much gas to move forward. In time you won't even think about it. Just don't dump the clutch.

Re: The New Baby is Here!

OoooOOOoOOOoo

An E92...

Nice color too, Bimmers don't look all that bad in white.

Best of luck with that!

I'm not a fan of newer BMWs but the E92 seems to be their most decent attempt of a good car.
