CAN THE WRONG FLYWHEEL AND BALANCER KIT CAUSE THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND TRANMISSION TO GO OUT ON A CAR THAT HAS BEEN DRIVEN ABOUT 725 MILES SINCE A MOTOR WITH THE WRONG FLY WHEEL WAS PUT IN??
ALSO IS THERE ANY ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS THAT THE WRONG FLYWHEEL COULD CAUSE ?? ENGINE WISE??
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL YOUR REPLIES.
Below is my entire story on the list of long problems with my car please read if you are interested in my story .
I have a 1994 FORD Mustang that has engine trouble . I went to a local junk yard and asked for a 1994 V.6 3.8 liter engine . I paid 800.00 for this engine had it loaded up on on my truck then took it to my machanic he put it in and when trying to fit the car with a radiator hose he come to the conclusion that it was not the right engine . Come to find out it was a 1998 mustang engine . When I was told this I called the junk yard I bought the motor from told them the mistake they had made and they said they knew they sold me a 1998 engine and if my mechanic knew what he was doing he could make it work . After all was said and done the junk yard talked me into letting them "MAKE IT RIGHT " meaning they would put the right model engine in the car and fix it for free ,so I let them tow it to them and 3 months later I got my car and it has been trouble ever since . The first this I noticed was the rough idle and the major vibration of the seats .I drove the car for about 4 days when it started vibrating terribly going down the road , I would let off the gas and it would stop I was told it was a torque converter shutter . I had the torque converter replaced ( by my mechanic) and a few days later the transmission started slipping and overdrive went completely out .
I called the junk yard that put the engine in the car telling them that ever since I got the car back from them it was idling ruff , the seats inside the car would vibrate terribly .They told me to take it to another mechanic (of their choice) to see what the problem was . That mechanic called me and said the wrong fly wheel was on the engine along with the wrong balancers .
They ( the mechanic that has the car now) are also trying to tell me that the wrong flywheel would not cause transmission trouble and is sticking me with the bill instead of the place that put the wrong flywheel on the engine , which by the way is still under warrenty with them.
