What is the most annoying "quirk" with your Honda?
If there is one thing I've learned about Honda's in the time since i've been here, it's that they have many little quirks in their design, whether they are designed to make up a better car, or they are designed so you almost HAVE to bring it to an authorized Honda repair shop. My latest discovery? Honda's lovely method of putting the whole wheel assembly together, using this wretched "impact" design. Basically, in order for the mechanics to change the sheared lug pin on the hub (see my "Idiot" post) they have to take apart the WHOLE THING, from the hub through to the axle and control arm assemblies. And since they're pulling apart what was put together by impact, they'll have to put a new wheel bearing in too, since it will be ruined, I guess. Is this true for a rotor change as well, I wonder? What little quirk plagues you?

I dont know if it is just my car or what, but I do not have a chime that tells me that my lights are on.

hey tenguzero, im not sure if your year was manufactured differently, but i didnt need a new anything. i paid only for a new stud and installation of it.
and woah, if you dont have the chime, luck you. i hate that damn beeping. i figure if its night time and someone needs a beeping noise to tell you lights are on, then they need to be punished for being an idiot . maybe a little harsh, but youll sure as hell never forget again. i wanted to turn mine off, but i could never figure out where it was coming from. and i guess the only bad thing ive found with my car is that the a/t's have intermitent jerkiness.

just the other day it was raining and i had my lights on, then it stopped raining, and i forgot that i had them on, and i left the car, with them on. good thing i only went into the video store to drop off a rental, if it sat for a long period of time, i would have had a dead battery. thats why i wish that i had one, for times like that.

Strodda, you have a 4th gen, right? Maybe it is only an issue with the 5th gens, since I was originally told over the phone by one of the guys (at Honda) that it would be a quick job, just the pin installation. But After I brought it in and the mechanics looked at it, they said that the guy must have been thinking about a different model. Boy, Honda really did some messed up $hit when they were designing the 5th gens, I mean, just installing my indiglo's was a pain in the ass, I had half my dashboard apart!

my '86 accord has more quirks than i could list. everytime i put my high beams on at night all of the lights on my dash get real bright just for a second like there is some kind of oversurge of power. i also put gum wrappers in the door jam things (that let your car know that a door is open) so that the light wouldn't come on and it wouldn't ding when the drivers door is open with the keys in, and i just took them out and now none of them work at all anymore. also when i put my headlights on in my 3rd gen they pop up but sometimes they don't come on and i have to flip the switch a few times.
also in both of my accords (as mentioned in another post) my front windows go up and down so slow. the sol is pretty good, just lots of rattles all over that i could take care of if i spent the time probably. when i tried to put my indiglos in my '95 myself i ended up breaking the gear that turns for the warm/cold air dial, so i had to get that fixed along with getting my gauges in becuase i couldn't do it myself. t.c.

My 02 doesn't have any lights on the door mounted controls. Usually Honda is good about the little things, but missed this one.

Yea, the Accord's weight is a bit of a stumbling factor, but I myself don't mind the weight issue so much, right now, since the design makes for a smoother, quieter ride(at this point in time, I have a 40 minute commute to and from school every day) Although I do have the advantage of having the coupe, w/ a standard tranny, so that sort of makes up for the weight
However, I do have a slight issue with the use of SOHC, even though supposedly it factors into the smoother ride as well.
