1987 f350 bellhousing

(first post)
heres the deal my friend has an 1987 f350 and one day he was towing a babcat and the clutch felt hard but nothing broke. Then the next morning he went to start it and all of the sudden the bellhousing broke into 4 pieces. I think the reason it broke was that the fork was hitting the bellhousing. Anyhow the truck is at the local dealer right now and they are having trouble finding one. He said that the bellhousing was discontinued for this truck in 1990. Is this true? THIS IS HIS WORK TRUCK SO ANY HELP ON FINDING A NEW ONE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

o in case i forgot to say his truck is an 1987 f350 with the 460 motor and the 4 speed manual tranny.

thanks in advance.

THere must be an auto "junkyard" nearby-there must have been more than one 460 4 speed made.

I know this is an older thread, hope the "old thread fuzz" don't bag me.

Have you tried something older from a salvage yard? The 360-390 equipped trucks should fit.
