My "new" beater car

A couple of weeks ago I bought a '92 Civic for $300. It's 4 door and automatic and has 194k miles. When I first got her, she drove really poor, but since then I've fixed a few things and registered the car yesterday. Here are some pics of the car:

And here's the S2000 hibernating:

Re: My "new" beater car

The best kind of beater in my mind. I wanna pick up another 90-93 Accord when I have some extra cash. Things will drive forever no matter how little care you take of them. My last one would burn 3 quarts of oil every tank of gas...and it would still run fine even if I let it get down to almost a quart.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: My "new" beater car

Here's my new snowbrush for the car:

When I got the car it was leaking oil from about 10 different places. I jacked the car up and looked underneath it. I noticed that everything above the oil pan was pretty clean. Then I noticed that the oil pan was missing a bolt. I found a bolt that fit. Then I decided to see how tight the other bolts were. Half of them were fingertight. I tightened all of them down and now it's not leaking as much oil anymore. If I could get oil consumption to about 1 qt per 1000 miles I'd be happy.

Re: My "new" beater car

you could spend like 3 grand on it and still not be wasting money. im glad to see someone acutually give an s2k the care that it deserves. some girl on my street has a boyfriend that has already totalled one. and now he has a brand new one. still in high school.

No, actually it's probably courtesy of some idiot living in California since that's where the car was until 175k miles.

Re: My "new" beater car

Nice beater. I was thinking how odd it was that there is nothing added to that Honda... such as stickers, etc. Then I noticed the stickers on each side of the license plate. Every Honda must have at least one sticker (in addition to inspection if your state requires one).

What I think is all the other stickers are there to distract the police officer from the fact that they don't have any of the right ones....
