Re: VWVortex Buildoff entry MK2 GTI

Here is a mock up of a possible air setup for more direct "air flow" to the ITB's. Its not final but a concept. Please let me know if it seems visually "OK".

Re: VWVortex Buildoff entry MK2 GTI

After a bit of test fitting...here is where I stand for the night. Im not trying to make it look clean, but more of a budget/homemade look. Id like to hear opinions on the intake tube please.

And I did a side exit exhaust...

Can you give me some backstory behind the VWVortex build-off? I have a 1:1 Golf, and a Mk II kit of my own underway that I might like to build, depending on the rules.

Well it was just a bunch of VW owners ( some might just be modelers) on VWVortex that wanted to build the same bodystyle over the last couple months for fun...no real prize...just a fun time sharing different ideas/approaches to the same kit. There is another member on here on the buildoff (GTIDUDE). Its really got me back into building after 10 years..man Im WAAAY behind on skill....

Althou I don't know much about the induction system on this, I really like the way you re-did it. What did you use for the ducting? It almost looks like coiled wire, nice touch all the same.
