Just wondering, if an '05 mustang gt(which gets 300 hp from good old fashioned v-8) and an '05 wrx si(which also gets 300 hp from a turbo) would they both get the same gas mileage since they both have the same hp and does anyone know what kind of torque and 1/4 mile times these cars have?

Re: 8cyl. vs. 4cyl. turbo?
Um...
A) this is not technical B) A 10 second search on yahoo would answer any question regarding their stats C) no they wouldn't get the same gas mileage. That depends on thousands of factors...weight, torque curves, gearing, aerodynamics, etc. Just because 2 cars have the same peak hp, doesn't mean they are remotely similar.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical. |

Re: 8cyl. vs. 4cyl. turbo?
they could get the same fuel mileage. I mean, they have similar power, weight, aerodynamics, and final drive ratio.
and yes, any decent car research website like autotrader can give you peak torque

Who buys a V8 or a Turbo 4 and worries about MPG?
