Re: Speaker Question

Well, I couldnt get the link to work for somereason, so this is my 2 cents here...

Depending on how big the speakers are, you might need a small amp. if there in the few hundred range, you could probly get by with out an amp, but I would use a small one. figure out the RMS value, a good guess is if they dont say it, figure about half the peak power. If it is a 300W speaker, dont get a 300W amp, and have it on full blast, From experiance, you will blow it playing the speaker at constant peak power.

Pritty much, if you have a good aftermarket radio, and rather small, but good speakers, you shouldnt need an amp, but if there bigger, then your radio wont be able to power them, and they will sound like shit.

Re: Speaker Question

you typically wont need an amp for any aftermarket speakers. most aftermarket radios put out at least 100 watts, which is enough to sufficiently power most speakers, but they do sound better with a small amp. i say just get the speakers and install them, see how they sound, and then use ur judgement on whether u need a amp or not.....

Re: Speaker Question

Replace all four speakers in your car, and get a small mulit-channel amp (4-channel), and run it to all speakers. It's not necessary, but will help them to sound better.

Re: Speaker Question

i just replaced all four stock speakers in my car with pioneers in front and rear. I also put bass blockers on the front speakers so i won't blow them because as you know they are 4 by 6 and small little speakers. I get a very clean clear sound.
