1999 Durango Washer Fluid Switches Reversed

I drive a 99 Durango at work and the front/rear washer switches are reversed! IE push button for front and rear sprays, push button for rear and front sprays.

Is there somewhere in the wiring harness that the wiring could have gotten easily switched?

Re: 1999 Durango Washer Fluid Switches Reversed

I'm not sure about yours, but mine has a separate pump for both front and rear. They are small white (I think) cylinders mounted on the passenger side of the radiator overflow tank, up at the top. They each have a black hose running to them. When I was on the road one time in bad weather, the front washer quit working and after thinking about it awhile I went under there and simply switched the hoses on the two cylinders. My front then operated with the rear button. When I got home I replaced the pump and all was good. Maybe in a previous repair of the cooling system or something like that someone has switched the rubber lines leading to the pump cylinders. That's easy enough to check, just keep in mind that while disconnected from the hoses and being switched the washer fluid is pouring out of the pumps and onto everything. If you have two people, one can hold their finger over one pump opening as you disconnect it while you do the other. It's worth a shot, and free! Good luck.

Don't feel bad. When I was on the road it took me a minute of thinking and looking to figure it out. With salt spraying on the windows I didn't have much choice lol. Glad it worked and have a good day!
