AP racing brakes . . .

Hi--I'm new to this website. I just bought a 1985 BMW M635 last month, and I am parting the AP racing brakes that are on the car. The car is set up for racing, but I'm restoring the car to its original self.

The front calipers are 6 piston (part# CP5555-81454) and the rears are 2 piston (part# P5211-23s0). The front rotors measure around 13.5-14" and the rears measure about 12.6". The wheels that I have on my car are 18"Breyton Magic's. I'm not sure if the brakes would fit anything smaller.

I must admit, I am a complete novice when it comes to racing, let alone racing brakes. I did some investigative work and contacted B.R.I.T.S. Inc., a racing store in Sonoma, Ca. where I spoke to an employee named Garrett. He stated that the front calipers cost roughly $800-$1000 new and the rears about $500. The rotors, he stated, run about $450 each. When you consider the mounting bracket etc . . . the kit could run well over $6000.

I talked to my mechanic (MrMCar, Farmingdale, N.J., Don Fields) and he stated that the brakes were very clean. So, if anyone is interested in these brakes, give me an email at [email protected] or call me at 732-996-9401.

Best--Mark
