1997-98 Nissan 200SX?
Well, I am looking for a drift car that is pretty inexpensive. There are plenty of 200SX's around here, and they sell for about 7,000-8,000 used. I heard the engines are pretty weak on them, so what specific engine do I replace it with and where can I get those engines that will fit on the 97-98' model 200SX.

Three import engines
I found a store in Okinawa that carries a bunch of Nissan engines, including the 255hp SR20DET and the CA18DET, however, they only stated that the engines only fit for the 240sx. If I only have a 200sx, how can I find a powerful engine for that in the states?

If your talking about an american 200sx then I suggest that you look for a bluebird sr20det those will drop right into the 200sx....

the US Spec 200sx are FWD two door cars that are non turbo. Other places around the world the 200sx is like our 240sx. It has turbo and is the same as the Japanese Silvia.
Put in the FWD sr20det in that usspec200sx..... those are cool swaps. The cars themselves don't look halfbad either... I would get one of those but I just prefer the 240sx over the 200sx and you can put the same engines in those cars just one is FWD and the other is RWD models. I've seen some real cool looking FWD sr swaps into 200sx's down here in Florida at shows. Id go the turbo 200sx route before any other turbo fwd cars like Eclipse or such. |
