88 GMC Sierra blinkers not working
I know this should be an easy thing, but I've searched the threads and can't seem to find much on this issue.
I have an 88 GMC Sierra. The blinkers have stopped working, but the hazzard flashers still work, so I know it's not a bulb issue. The turn signal still clicks itself off when turning corners, so that seems functional. I'm assuming it's the flasher module, but don't know exactly where it's located.....or exactly what it looks like for that matter. I did get a replacement module from AutoZone, but can't seem to find the exact same component under the dash. Q1: Is there only one flasher module available (maybe I bought the wrong one)? Q2: Can anyone help me with tracking down the physical location inside the truck? Any help is much appreciated. It's an old truck, but it's been an awesome vehicle. Always starts, very few mechanical issues....but the blinkers gotta work. Thanks. |

Re: 88 GMC Sierra blinkers not working
Most "blinker" relays are located directly on the fuse box (normally in a corner). The relay is round with 3 or 4 prongs and just pulls out of the fuse box like a plug.

Re: 88 GMC Sierra blinkers not working
LMC Truck shows it as square with 2 prongs. See http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cd/0124.html and look at 16. However, like vzfox said it is probably in the fuse box by the drivers feet.

Re: 88 GMC Sierra blinkers not working
vandemi.......still trying to locate the turn signal relay??
On my '89 GMC it is square and located directly on the fuse box, under the dash, close to the firewall, behind the emergency brake pedal. The relay is on the bottom of the fuse box and should just pull out. hope this helps....... |
