95 olds achieva runs rough can rev to 3500 rpm in neteral then no power

What engine? Miles?
Since its glowing orange, that means that too much fuel is going unburned and is igniting. I would start by checking for good spark on all plugs. Is it misfiring or anything like that? Knowing the engine would be really helpful. When is the last time this car had an emissions test, if your state requires it?
